▪️Exfoliation
Though exfoliation is a good way to get rid of dead skin and make skin appear fresher and brighter, if overdone it can actually make things worse. As our skin type is more prone to develop dark spots, over-exfoliation can leave behind hot spots which heal with hyperpigmentation.

Oily skin should exfoliate once a week and dry skin twice a month.

▪️Food
Processed foot have high salt and sugar content which act as preservatives to in areas shelf life. Also their nutritional content is much lower. Try to eat high protein freshly cooked food as much as possible. Indian diet is high in carbohydrate and low in protein. Including yogurt, lentils, beans and paneer is a good way to increase protein content for vegetarians.

▪️Apple cider vinegar
Application of Apple civet vinegar on face can cause burns and should not be used. It was used as an anti acne agent. It reduces skin pH and causes gentle exfoliation but now there are better and safer alternatives .

▪️Physical scrubs
These cause micro-tears on the skin. It’s always better to use chemical exfoliants.
