Part 1:
--------
Louis Ferrante, an associate of the infamous mobster John Gotti, recounted his journey through a complicated trial by hatching a defense strategy using rap music. Louis was facing a potential life sentence when the idea of creating a rap song presenting Gotti as a victim of conspiracy came up. Not from Louis initially, but the actor Mickey Rourke. Volunteering to take Rourke’s place, Louis, along with Pete Nice from the 90s hip-hop group 3rd Bass, created a track about Gotti's alleged mistreatment by the judicial system. The song gained massive public attention and was Louis' intended defense. Although ultimately unable to use this defense in court due to legal constraints, Louis endeavored to publicize his perceived railroading through the media. Despite facing a life sentence, Louis and his co-defendants managed to negotiate their sentences down to 13 years for Louis and less for the rest.
