Much better quality rip of this Chicano Doo Wop holy grail. The background noise is in the recording itself. Likely dubbed from a noisy acetate and pressed onto vinyl. THIS IS NOT THE VALENTINES FROM NY! That was a black group led by Richard Barrett. This record is from the West Side of San Antonio. I truly believe this may be some early iteration of The Sunglows, or at least have involvement from members of The Sunglows. Note the label address is 3207 S. Flores (San Antonio, TX) - the same address for Sunglow records itself. Also, the flipside is credited as “More Peanuts” but it is the exact same recording as “Popcorn”, released as The Sunglows on Sunglow records. Anyone have more history I’m missing here?
