Old School Grime Beat From Scratch

In this video I’m making an old school grime beat from scratch. Taking from my influence from great artists I respect the likes of Wiley. You’ll notice I use a lot of sounds common in a lot of grime instrumental music. Such as those classic lofi video game type sounds associated with ‘eskibeat’. (If you’re interested in copping a grime SFX sample pack, let me know in the comments!) I used FM Synthesis to create that classic UK Garage and Grime sounding bassline. Not to mention the ever so often used ‘Square Wave’ synth oscillators that are again very common particularly in grime music. On top of this, the pace of the instrumental is classic grime beat 140bpm. Or 143bpm to be exact! This beat was created using Logic Pro X, in case you’re wondering what software I use.

One other thing worth noting is I in no way actually condone slapping or punching Nan’s in any way whatsoever. Lord Lav is in every way adverse to the physical harm of any Nan’s throughout the world. Nan’s should always be cherished because they provide us with fantastic cakes and biscuits! - My ‘Nan slap’ comment was in fact a dubious metaphor for how heavy this grime beat is sounding. If you are unable to understand the concept of jokes and metaphors no matter how poor and blatant they might be and If in real life you feel compelled to physically harm anyone’s Nan off the back of this heavy sounding beat I strongly urge you to instead direct that energy to subscribe to my channel and click the bell icon for regular notifications of my videos and to direct that energy towards dropping a screwface!...
