Hello internet, ⭕Vital's filters aren't my favorite part of this synthesizer. They do a good job, but they have a major flaw: they saturate very quickly. For example, take any wavetable with an aggressive sound, like a sync sweep wavetable or even an FM one, and try to sweep its frequency using the Digital 24dB/oct Bandpass filter with some resonance. You'll notice that with certain wavetables and at certain frequencies, the filter will start saturating.➡️The obvious thing to do in this case is to lower the volume of the oscillator. This is a good solution if you have only one oscillator feeding into that filter, but if you start adding more oscillators, you'll have to lower the volume even further. If you're someone like me who likes to gain stage their patches, you'll be in big trouble, especially since Vital doesn't have the possibility to control the volume using the effect modules like Serum does.
✅So while working on my second Vital preset pack, I found a solution which is kind of a middle ground between not saturation and not losing a lot of volume. This solution is to use the B/P/N variation of any of Vital's filters.
