Robert William Gary Moore was born on April 4, 1952 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He began playing guitar at the age of 8.He played in the bands Thin Lizzy, Skid Row and Colosseum II. He achieved fame as a solo artist with the song Parisienne Walkways (1979).
His style included rock, blues rock, hard rock and traditional heavy metal.
Notable albums: Still Got the Blues (1990) is the most successful of his career.
His music was significantly influenced by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac and Eric Clapton.
In October 2010, he gave concerts in Ukraine.
Gary Moore died on February 6, 2011 in Spain from a heart attack.
