Altöm is the project of two dj's from Paris named Alexis Cornet and Thomas Dubreuil. They met each other in high school and shared their passion for music. In the early 90's they discovered electronic music when they started going t turn table anto parties and raves in and around Paris. Then they bought their firsd began buying vinyl's with the thought of becoming dj's themselves. They started mixing at parties in the mid 90's and it became clear that they had to do their own productions. By the year 2000 they had created their own music and became Altöm (alex & tom).
In 2001, they released their first track "Desperado", on "dimitri's dat bag" compilation on Tip records, then they released a few tracks on the italian label Neurobiotic records. End 2001, they decided to take a winter retreat on a french island from the atlantic coast, to produce their first album for Neurobiotic. This is where is born "Hologram", which was a big hit and very well acclaimed album, released summer 2002 and still seen as a real gem by various producers, djs, and fans today.
They first mixed live as Altöm in October of 2002, and since then have played a lot of parties and festivals around the world : Mexico, Brasil, Japan, USA, UK, Germany, Scandinavia, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Russia, Israel, India, Greece, Poland, Serbia, France...including large events with thousands of people, like Voov Experience, Fullmoon festival, Antaris in Germany, Glade festival in England, Vision Quest Gathering in Japan, Tribaltech, Euphoria, Kaballah, XXXperience, Universo Parallelo in Brasil, Sonica festival in Italy, from where they gained some impressive feedbacks and an undoubtful reputation, They released tracks on all the most renowned labels such as Tip, Spirit Zone, Spun, Solstice, Maia, 3D Vision, Liquid and Solid, Mind control, Exposure Productions, and of course Neurobiotic, their mother label.
In 2004, they released their second album with Neurobiotic Records , titled "Groove control", which was more dance-floor oriented. They kept the elements which characterized their style and the crystal clear quality of their first productions but added faster grooves and more melodies. In June of 2005 they compiled a cd for Neurobiotic, titled "Groove Controllers". This cd included remixes from their second album "Groove Control" as well as tracks from other major artists. In 2007, they made a compilation for the japanese label TPE, including remixes from their hits by GMS, by Shanti, by Silicon Sound, and tracks from Protoculture, Bamboo Forest, Polaris, Alternative Control. The compilation includes also Altöm big hit "What time is love" , a tribute to KLF, which smashed the dancefloors all around the world...Definitly one of the best full-on cd of 2007.
Late spring 2007, Thomas moved to Barcelona, Spain, to setup his base at the beach. He started two projects : a full-on project called Voyager, and another project under the name Ocean, more oriented towards progressive trance, while Alexis started to produce electro house.
