Stevie Ray Vaughan performed the National Anthem at the Houston Astrodome while his wife Lenore stood nearby with two unfamiliar men. As she watched, Lenore told one man, “He didn’t know how to play it; I had to hum it for him.” The man responded, “That’s a tough song; few can play it.” Moments later, Lenore realized the men were sports icons Carl Lewis and Mickey Mantle. Excited, she sought Mantle’s autograph, but she had no ball or bat. Stevie then offered his guitar, named "Lenny," saying, "Why not sign this?" Mantle gladly did, marking the Strato with his signature.
