I skipped watching the Oscars on the telly to attend this terrific gig at the intimate Baby's venue in Brooklyn. I have been a fan of The Bevis Frond since hearing them on Mark Radcliffe's excellent "Out On Blue Six" show on BBC Radio 1 back in the 1990s. It was an honour to finally see the band in action. Frontman and songsmith Nick Saloman is a force of nature. Nick writes artful music and lyrics at such a prodigious rate that he makes it seem effortless, but he shared with the crowd that more than half of his output ends up in the bin.

The 2024 album, Focus on Nature, is a banger. If you don't know it, check it out. I bought it on vinyl.
