Kerri Chandler visits one of the last factories crafting his most cherished medium: magnetic tape.

Magnetic tape, once a staple of every studio, is a rarefied object in our digital world—but Kerri Chandler remains one of its fiercest champions. With a career spanning over three decades, Chandler’s is legendary for his reel-to-reel sets, in which he plays with four tape decks.

Last summer, we followed the American house legend to rural Normandy, where he explored the intricate process and met the makers of his favourite tape - RTM.
