They have also bulldozed in this area of Salouqi, blocking the roads to Mhaibib, Tallousa, and the entrances to Houla. We don’t know what they are doing down there, but they have brought equipment and are working.”

“Our land and our very souls are tied to there (his village) and to our homes. We call on the Lebanese state, His Excellency the President, and Mr. Nabih Berri, tomorrow (Sunday) we will go up there, remove these barriers, and reclaim our land. Certainly, we will make a resistance not engaging in armed resistance; we will form a popular, national resistance. All of us, the people of these villages, will defend our land, for it is our heritage and that of our children. We want to live in our land.”

STORYLINE:
Israel’s military Saturday set up roadblocks across border towns and roads in a strategic valley in southern Lebanon, a day before the deadline for it to withdraw from the area under an agreement that halted its war with the Hezbollah militant group.
Israel's military has confirmed that it won't complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by Sunday as outlined in its ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, residents of some villages in Lebanon that saw tanks and bulldozers passing by, said they will protect their land.
“Tomorrow (Sunday) we will go up there, remove these barriers, and reclaim our land,” said Deeb Abboud, a villager from Houla border who was displaced to the neighbouring Shakra village.
“The people of these villages will defend our land, for it is our heritage and that of our children,” Abboud added.
The deal that went into effect in late November gave both sides 60 days to remove their forces from southern Lebanon and for the Lebanese army to move in and secure the area, along with U.N. peacekeepers.
Israel says Hezbollah and the Lebanese army haven’t met their obligations, while Lebanon accuses the Israeli army of hindering the Lebanese military from taking over.
In a statement Saturday, the Israeli military said the agreement is progressing. But it said in some sectors, “it has been delayed and will take slightly longer.”
The Lebanese military has said that they had deployed in areas following Israeli troops’ withdrawal, and in a statement Saturday accused the Israeli military of “procrastinating” in their withdrawal from other areas.
