Cypress Hill’s lead rapper, B-Real joins DJ Skee to talk about the moment he realized that he wanted to pursue music and join the group that eventually became known as Cypress Hill. “The thing that convinced me was writing for Mellow and I thought okay, if I do this with Muggs and Sen Dogg I have to choose. I cannot bring this gangster s*** into the music.” He explained that he made a conscious decision to break ties with gang life in order the launch of his own station on Dash Radio as well as the upcoming Cypress Hill album. “That’s been where my head’s at . . . giving the people the music.”
