This footage comes from Albert King's live performance of "The Sky Is Crying" in Sweden, recorded in 1980. It's the second solo I've transcribed from this particularly show because Albert's playing is just phenomenal throughout...
Albert's Flying V screams and wails the moment he rolls up the volume at the end of the verse. The bends scream slightly sharp. The vibrato shakes wildly. He fights for the higher notes as he builds the solo. The guitar fights back.
No pedals, no modellers. Just a pair of hands and a guitar going into a loud amp. Beautiful.
