A compilation of 1980's soundtape clips from different dances of the wicked UK Reggae MC - Youthie General - live on Volcano Express sound system from Stonebridge, North West London, UK ....
Youthie General is still remembered to this day as one of the best Reggae MC's to have come out of the UK in the 1980's .....
Volcano Express Sound came out in the mid-1980's and played right up to around 1988/1989 - and were known to have a great class of Reggae MC's that weren't afraid of anyone and took on all the top Reggae sound systems of the day ...
I would have loved to have included in this compilation a clip of the memorable clash that many people still talk about to this day - between Volcano Express vs Saxon Studio @ Sladebrook School, London NW10 - on 19th December 1986 - where Youthie General clashed with Saxon's MC Daddy Colonel - but unfortunately the only audio recording of this dance that is available online at the moment is a ghettoblaster recording - recorded live in the dance - and hence the audio quality unfortunately wasn't clear enough to have been included in this compilation ! ..... We hope that one of the Volcano Express crew has a clearer amp copy of this wicked clash & will release it online one day ! .....
Also included at the end of this Youthie General audio compilation are a few Volcano Express dubplate special clips - which I came across whilst putting this audio compilation together - and which were just too wicked to have been left out of this audio !! ....
Big Respect goes out to Ruffhouse - who has generously uploaded online over the years all the Volcano Express soundtapes from the 1980's that were used in this compilation - out of his personal archive - and without Ruffhouse there would have been very few Volcano Express soundtapes available out there online for us all to enjoy - BIG MASSIVE RESPECT SIR !
Big Respect also goes out to Guvna Gregah - who both edited & enhanced the audio quality of all the clips used in this compilation - so that they could be listened to with as clear quality as is possible - BIG UP SIR ! .....
