Artist Biography: In 1994 a new metal band was founded going by the name “My Brother Jake”. The band released their first single titled “In Therapy” shortly afterwards and from that moment on things start to happen rapidly.
Not only did the single get a lot of airtime on radio programs such as Veronica’s Countdown Café, the single also is used as a advertisement theme tune for the Dutch VARA radio rock program “Bad Girl”.
The band proceeded with quite a number of gigs and play alongside Status Quo, Tyketto, Harem Scarem, etc.

In 1995 the band releases one more single and shortly after the band members go their separate ways.

After this singer Robert Soeterboek can still be heard on the albums of Ayreon, Highway Chile, The Cotton Soeterboekband, the German band Wicked Sensation and also German Thomsen and Star One, to name but a few.
Bassist Toine Vanderlinden can still be heard playing with the band he has been a part of since it came into existence “Martyr” that enjoyed much popularity in the ‘80s and also he continues in the band Rebelstar.

In 2015 the band members get together again and decide to resurrect MY BROTHER JAKE. They start recording a new album that will be out in 2016. The sound is as it was in 1994, as if time has stood still. Momentarily the band is preparing for another succession of gigs.
