One morning, Ruth, Thorsten, Jakob, and Henrik wake to find a mysterious green metal fence dividing their lives. Stretching across backyards, farms, and even bisecting a beloved service dog's grave, the barrier disrupts their quiet rural existence. As the fence imposes itself on their daily routines, these down-to-earth neighbors find themselves grappling with the absurd and deeply personal impact of arbitrary border policies.
The film explores the nature of borders, what it means to be a "border person," and how history and politics interweave with ordinary lives in unexpected ways, turning the mundane into a tragi-comic reflection on identity and belonging.
