The original track is about the daring nature most people deal with at a young age, a human issue that, associated with temperance, auto-sabotage and the sense of self-destruction, often feature on ^L_'s work, making him the right artist to revisit "Double Dare". So on this remix, he deconstructed the original to the point of creating a totally new tune with mysterious synth pads, pounding breakbeats and a dirty bass on an 80s EBM embodiment.

After debuting earlier this year, Lost Tapes of 88 now launches a second album full of remixes and versions of the original synthwave piece. Keeping the 80s retro future inspiration, this 6 Plusten Records release assembles a quite energetic combo blending joyful and dark tracks that range from a mix of synthwave and hard rock to darkwave, synthpop, electro, IDM, drum and bass, EBM and even phonk. The album features fellow Brasília collaborators such as Kalimar Maia, Meduna, TT&G, ^L_ and also the own artist under the Quizzik and LTO88 monikers reconceiving his creations. So despite of the wide spectrum genre wise, this 8-tracker flows nicely with references shifting from likes of Eddie Van Halen to Boy Harsher, a-ha, Lowfish, Hudson Mohawke, Sub Focus, Skinny Puppy and drifter Hensonn, which sonically maintains the nostalgic revisiting focus of Lost Tapes of 88.

Artist bio:
‘Lost Tapes of 88’ is a synthwave side-project of Quizzik, a long time Brazilian producer and DJ usually related to IDM and electro. This new moniker focuses on rewinding to his childhood memories in Arizona back in the 80s, recollecting TV shows, movies, cars, cartoons and games from that era, not only in a nostalgic way, but expanding that retrofuture feel through a contemporary perspective with a bit of a dystopian twist.
