I uploaded this film for the main reason to show people what "used to be". Most will see it as offensive (as they should) but hopefully it will also show how far the film community has come and how society has changed to become far less tolerant of these kinds of stereotype.Fred Parker made many films in black face, primarily in westerns but also in some blatantly stereotypical comedies. This piece (circa 1927) is about two slow witted piano movers and the havoc they create trying to deliver to an upper society family.
Parker appeared in well over 100 films throughout his career, mostly in blackface and today is basically forgotten .
This film fell into the public domain in 1955 from lack of copyright renewal.
NOTE: As a result of people making false claims on public domain music I've eliminated the soundtracks. Sorry :(
