The book is organized into six main parts:
1.
Part I: Introduction: This section begins with a preliminary discourse on the importance of catechizing, emphasizing the need for Christians to be well-instructed in the grounds of true religion to be settled in their faith. It argues that knowledge of fundamentals enriches the mind, furnishes defense against adversaries, and is the seed of grace. It then delves into Man's Chief End, which is identified as glorifying God and enjoying Him forever. Glorifying God involves having God-admiring thoughts, adoration or worship according to God's appointment, aiming purely at His glory, being tender of His glory, and being fruitful. The introduction also covers The Scriptures, which are presented as the only rule to direct us how to glorify and enjoy God. The divine authority of Scripture is demonstrated by its divine inspiration, miraculous preservation, profound subject matter, holiness, and power upon souls. The Scriptures are described as a complete and perfect rule containing all things necessary to salvation, revealing the way of salvation, and principally teaching what man is to believe concerning God and what duty God requires. The book encourages studying, prizing, believing, loving, conforming to, contending for, and being thankful for the Scriptures.
