Hello internet, 🟢 While I was working on my second Vital preset bank, I discovered a trick that can turn any wavetable into a glassy atmosphere, perfect for adding a darker, unsettling feel to the track.
➡️ For the demonstration, I used a simple saw wave to show how powerful the algorithm is. All you need to do is set the oscillator spectral morph to random amplitudes, then modulate the spectral morph with any slow modulation source (it could be an LFO like in my example, aftertouch, velocity, or by hand).
🥈 A filtering stage is optional depending on the timbre you're looking for, but I used a low-pass filter as it helps give a darker feel.
✅ Of course, finish the sound with a lot of reverb.
