On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump was asked about 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian goods coming into the United States that he says will start on Feb. 1.
“Canada, very much so… They've allowed millions and millions of people to come in [to the U.S.] who shouldn’t be here. They could have stopped them and they didn’t,” Trump said.
Trump also claimed that “fentanyl coming through Canada is massive,” with the drug originating from China, who he also says will be strapped with tariffs along with Mexico.
“We’re talking about a tariff of 10 per cent on China based on the fact that they’re sending Fentanyl to Mexico and Canada,” Trump added.
