On 3 December 1989, ITN captured the recording sessions of Band Aid II, 'Do They Know It's Christmas' in London's Southbank. Off the back of a hugely successful run of the single in 1984, Bob Geldof would join forces with Pete Waterman amongst a host of new and established musicians, from Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, to Bros and Cliff Richard. The recording resulted in a fresh instalment of this festive anthem and a fresh supply of aid for Ethiopia, which at the time was reeling from another failed coup and worsening famine.
