However, what he found was a totally different scene from last time. Last time he was there, everyone were smiling and happy but this time, many old folks weren't happy.
This is because it was close to lunar new year and many elderlies were being taken back home to celebrate with family. However, some were left behind by their families because they were focused on making money and decided to skip lunar new year this year. At least that's what they told their elderly family members.
In order to cheer them up, this young man decided to make the day special for them. Using his own money. He went to the shop with the manager of the nursing home and together they picked out lots of food for the nursing home.
Then, they invited everyone inside, they sang happy birthday together and had fun listening to some music. Even though the atmosphere still wasn't too good, as many are still coming to terms with the fact that their family members hadn't thought of visiting them on such a special occasion when they may not even have another year to celebrate. Regardless, the man did his best. And most of the elderlies there appreciate him.
Let's hope that these residents' families make it up to them with a surprise visit later on. It's better late than never.
