IJO - Melancholika, dark ambient, full album. 2003, Surfaces.netEven though I have been making music forever, this was my first official debut album. It was released on my friend's short-lived surfaces.net net-label back in 2003. I was only 20 when this came out. This album was my first attempt at making something that isn't jungle based, so I went in to the opposite direction experimenting with beatless music, inventing sounds of my own. This was made on a Windows 95 Pentium of that era, most of the sounds were recorded on a cheap headphone plugged in to a mic input on my soundbalser sound card. Sequenced on a Soundforge which isn't a sequencer at all. Other sounds like pads were made on a standalone synth by Seer Systems Reality, which wasn't a VST. You had to run it simultaneously with other DAW, which for me was an early version of Cakewalk.
It is a pretty dark album, and it suits the reality of today pretty well.
