In this NY EDU Sessions video recap, Dubspot Instructor, Visual Artist, Programmer, and VIDVOX head David Lublin introduces us to the world of VJing and live performance using VDMX visual performance software. David kicks things off by explaining what VJing is all about and the type of artists that perform with live visuals. He talks about the many different types of visuals and diverse stages where visuals are seen to excite. David also takes us through the roles of a Show Visual Artist, Media Remixer, Live Cinema Visual Artists, Set Design Visual Artists, and artists who make music videos. Delving deeper into the discussion, David shares some of the best ways to stand out in today’s competitive music market and talks about some of the skill sets and tools being used by visualists. He also talks about his approach to performing with VDMX using a Korg nanoKONTROL and takes us through one of his projects.
