The U.S. Department of Defense is testing cutting-edge Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (CBRN) equipment. The event, called RDAX Dragon Spear, put new CBRN defense technologies to the test in realistic operational scenarios.Researchers from Oregon State University, led by Associate Professor of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Haori Yang, were invited to test Spot, a four-legged robot, in various real-life scenarios.
According to Yang, "Spot earned some battle scars, and our radiation detection payload performed well in multiple scenarios."
