James McAlister is a masterful toast chef and a musically deep dude. Probably best known as a drummer and keyboardist for Sufjan Stevens, he also produces, engineers, plays multiple instruments, and uses technology both old and new to create beautiful and evocative textures.I’ve known James for many years now and we regularly discuss the intersection of art and commerce, and what it means to be working musician with a broad set of skills in our current age.
