The giant phantom jellyfish (Stygiomedusa gigantea) is one of the deep ocean’s most mysterious and rarely seen creatures. With a bell that can span over a meter wide and thick, ribbon-like arms extending up to 10 meters, it drifts silently through the dark depths of the ocean, often more than 1,000 meters below the surface.Unlike most jellyfish, it lacks stinging tentacles and instead uses its long arms to envelop and trap prey. Its ghostly appearance and elusive nature make each rare sighting.
