Fastener: is a hardware device that mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together. In general, fasteners are used to create non-permanent joints; that is, joints that can be removed or dismantled without damaging the joining components.

Fasteners:
Anchors
Cable Ties
Nuts
Pins
Retaining Rings
Rivets
Screws & Bolts
Studs Etc.

There are three main types of threaded fastener; Bolts, Screws and Studs.
Special fasteners are a bolt used under industrial circumstances to hold pieces heavy weight industrial components together under extreme pressure. These screws are made out of materials highly resistant to corrosion. This is necessary because of the type of equipment they are expected to hold together.

Fasteners Materials:
Fasteners are made from a variety of aluminum alloys, with elements such as manganese, silicon, iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, and silicon being added to increase strength and melting point. Rivets are often made from aluminum alloys in the 5000-series, which uses magnesium as the primary alloying element.

Stainless bolts stronger than Grade 8?
Steel is the most common material used for making nuts and bolts and fastener material. These are available plain. They are also available with various surface treatments. These may include such as zinc plating, galvanization, and chrome plating.

Hardest grade bolt:
Grade 8 is the hardest, Grade 5 is medium, and Grade 2 is the softest. This is the most common grade of steel fastener and is the least expensive. Grade 2 bolts have no head marking, although sometimes a manufacturer's mark is present.

type of threads are used for fastening purpose?
UNC threads are commonly used for fasteners because they fit deeper and are more generic than fine threads, which allows for easier removal if needed. UNC threads also boast a higher tolerance during plating and manufacturing, and they do not require cross-threading for assembly.

Types of Threads:
NPT/NPTF. BSPP (BSP, parallel) BSPT (BSP, tapered) metric parallel.

Types of Screw Heads:
Slotted
Phillips
Square
Torx/Star

Is a bolt a fastener?
Bolt, mechanical fastener that is usually used with a nut for connecting two or more parts.

How many types of nut bolts are there?
By definition, bolts are threaded fasteners that are intended to be mated with a nut. Here is a gallery showing 12 standard types of bolts. Bolts are threaded fasteners that are intended to be mated with a nut.

What is a hex head bolt used for?
Hex bolts, or hex cap screws, are large bolts with a six-sided head (hexagonal!) used to fasten wood to wood, or metal to wood.

Dimpled and counter sunk holes:
Most fasteners, such as screws and nuts, have a head that is designed to fit a specific type of fastener recess. The recess is a dimple, counterbore, or counter-sunk hole that allows the nut to hold the screw or bolt firmly in place. The recess is threaded to match the fastener and is designed to prevent loosening in use. There are several different types of fasteners, and each type of fastener is used in specific applications. When selecting the correct fastener for a given application, there are many factors to consider, including the size, shape, and type of material to be fastened; the size and type of the hole in which the fastener will be installed; and the desired design of the finished product.

Dowel Pins:
The concept of dowel pins as a means of connecting components together is not new. The ancient Greeks used dowel pins to hold together the parts of their chariots, and Leonardo da Vinci used a version of the dowel pin to connect the shaft and wheel of his design for a helicopter.
