UB40 - Labour Of Love II Happy Release Day
UB40’s “Labour of Love II” is a very worthy sequel to their first covers album. While it doesn’t quite match the magic of the original, it does showcase the band’s signature sound: A blend of reggae, ska, and soul accompanied by the unique vocals of Ali Campbell. Songs such as ‘Kingston Town’ and ‘Red Red Wine’ are catchier and groovier than ‘Here I Am’ which is more of an emotional ballad. On the whole, it is a good listening album that demonstrates skills of UB40 in reinventing old songs in their own manner.
