With so much on offer it was a challenge to get ‘round but luckily we had the car and were able to bring you a taste of what was on offer including Bristol's “Shoun Shoun” (winners of the 2019 Glastonbury FM Songwriting Competition) at the Hawthorns pub where we discovered Sylvette last year – both displaying sophisticated art-rock.. “Oh the Guilt” at The King Arthur, pervading heavy Bristolian ambient-rock. “Fey Militia” at the Tor Leisure Centre, hailing from Bristol/West Midlands with frontwoman, Molly Davies seducing the crowd in a Blondie-esque style. “Got Chemistry” from Frome at the Rifleman’s Arms - well past the test tube stage and making a strong musical potion with skilled guitar from Nick Balura and soaring vocals from Sherrie Nutty.
Then, back to the Tor Leisure Centre for London-based “Broken Bones Matilda” with feisty blues-gospel vocals from Sarah McGrigor; and finally Oxford's “Zion Train” who steamed into the Bocabar with driving deep bass and echoing vocals – tune tune
