During the opening address of the China-Africa Forum last month, China's Commerce Ministry revealed that trade volume between the two sides had climbed 5.5% in the first seven months of this year to 170 billion dollars, marking a new record. In addition to trade, China's loans to the continent have also been on the rise after a significant decline a few years back.
