The term "Developing Facility" refers to the ability to move freely around the drum kit. The key to "artistry" is translating the musical ideas and stream of colors in your brain, out through your hands and feet…. seamlessly. Whatever you want to play, just happens! This comes from many years of work. I've developed a series of "Facility Development" exercises that will open up an entire world of freedom for you on the drums. In this first module in the "Fills" Lab, I demonstrate and discuss the exercises for playing in a straight 1/8th-note flow of notes. This is the most common flow of notes that music is based on.
