Akai Tracks Vol 2:

I have been using this method for over 25 years, no matter if I am using Akai hardware sampler or make music completely in a DAW (Cubase, Reason 10), I always start a track the same way: I open SoundForge, where I manage all my samples. I pick the samples / sounds I like (from a huge smaple library i made over the years), compile them in a separate folder, which becomes a sort of micro sample pack for that track.
