For this tutorial, I'll be using my iPhone as my primary device and an Android smartphone as my secondary device.
To begin, install WhatsApp on your Android smartphone or any other device you'd like to link your existing WhatsApp account to. Once the app is installed, open it up and select your preferred language then tap on 'Agree and continue'.
At the account creation page, instead of entering your mobile number, tap on the three dots in the top right corner, and choose 'Link Existing account'. You'll then see instructions on how to link the existing WhatsApp of your primary device to your secondary one.
Now, open WhatsApp on your primary phone, head over to the settings tab, and choose 'Linked Devices'. Tap on 'Link a Device', and you'll see a QR code appear. Scan this code with your secondary device to instantly link the two devices and use the same WhatsApp account on both phones with same number.
This process is similar to using WhatsApp Web, but instead of using a browser, you're connecting your devices directly.
The advantages of using One WhatsApp account on multiple devices with same phone number are
- You can manage a WhatsApp business account more efficiently by giving access to your employees and can Stay connected on up to 4 devices simultaneously.
The major Limitations of this feature are
- Live location and add status features aren't supported on companion phones.
- Your secondary phones will be logged out if you don't use your primary phone for over 14 days. To keep linked devices connected, you'll need to log in to your primary phone every 14 days.
