Imam Ahmad Deeb has been serving communities from a very young age. He grew up in Orlando, FL to a family of scholars. His father was an Imam and scholar for 35 years while being one of the main authorities in Quranic recitation in the world; his mother was an educator. His grandfather, Shaykh Ramadan Deeb, is one of the oldest living scholars in Syria. He happily serves as the Imam and Religious Director at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo, and continues his study of the Islamic Tradition with local teachers in America, and abroad by yearly excursions in England, Egypt, Morocco, and Turkey. In his free time, he loves reading, spending time with his family, watching movies, and doing mixed martial arts; he also travels frequently for community development programs and serves as the Outreach Ambassador for Bayan Claremont, the first graduate school for Islamic Studies and Chaplaincy in the country. He believes the biggest problem in the modern world is one of connection and loneliness; hence, his greatest passion lies in cultivating love and community through education, service, and mindful devotion.
