Satan Takes A Holiday follows up their album "Satanism" by collaborating with Dregen on a single version of the song "Traps!". This time, Satan Takes A Holiday ventured into the revered Studio Ingrid with Johan Gustafson (The Hives, Randy) and longtime collaborator Alexander Idfalk to rekindle the flames behind their mix of rock’n’roll and ’60s garage with their love for dark contemporary pop. The band comments:
- "The idea for this dream collaboration was born when we recorded the song 'Traps!' in 2022. Dregen is one of our few true rock stars, primarily known as a guitar hero. But during our European tour with Backyard Babies a few years ago, we were also greatly impressed by his performance on the microphone. We are absolutely thrilled to have finally made this happen!"
Dregen responds:
- "It’s insanely fun to finally collaborate with this power trio and on THIS powerhouse of a song called 'TRAPS!'. Satan Takes A Holiday has long been one of my favorite bands, and they toured with us in Backyard Babies already on the European tour 'Nordic Noir 2019'.
Tight. Sweaty. Groovy.
On 'TRAPS!', the trio becomes a razor-sharp quartet."
Satan Takes A Holiday
"Satanism" is the band's most direct and gripping album to date, tackling themes of grief, sleepless nights, parenthood, violent confrontations, and final reckonings, all while inviting you to dance, riot, and reflect. It is, simply put, Satan Takes A Holiday distilled into its purest form, making it a hell of a soundtrack. The new album features guest artists such as Emmon, (Patrik) Von Arfve, Andreas Hourdakis, and David Park, joining Satan Takes A Holiday on this wild new journey.
The singles from "Satanism" have been on heavy rotation on both Pirate Rock and Bandit Rock. Earlier in their career, the band gained attention from radio stations like BBC 6 Music, where none other than Iggy Pop himself took notice, and received multiple additions on P3. They have been covered by press outlets such as Classic Rock/Louder Sound, Ghost Cult Magazine, Rock Hard, and more. As one of Sweden’s best live bands, they have toured the country multiple times and shared the stage with legends like KISS, The Sonics, Mustasch, Juliette Lewis, Backyard Babies, and Imperial State Electric.
Dregen
From the small town of Nässjö to the world’s biggest stages – Dregen has lived and breathed rock ’n’ roll for decades. As the guitarist of Backyard Babies and a founding member of The Hellacopters, he has shaped the Swedish rock scene, won multiple Grammy Awards, and shared the stage with giants like KISS and AC/DC.
But Dregen’s creativity doesn’t stop at music. He is also a skilled artist, furniture designer, brewer, and solo artist with a critically acclaimed album to his name. With his unique style, energy, and attitude, he continues to be one of Sweden’s most iconic rock stars.
With new music, exciting projects, and an unrelenting passion, Dregen is always ready to take the next step.
