In honor of our new album "Play That Rock 'n' Roll" (1/14/22) I created this unplugged acoustic series showcasing alternate versions of songs from the new album. These stripped-down acoustic video performances are meant to showcase the song first (lyrics, emotion etc). As an artist, I feel that a the meaning of a song can sometimes get lost in a huge production. I was out at @DieselCreek back in September for a nice gathering of my buddy Matt's friends and neighbors around a campfire. Our buddy Mikey brought his Gretsch Boxcar Resonator Guitar and he let me try it, then I played it all night, then the next morning I woke up and ordered the same model online for myself! This little dobro has been such an inspiring instrument for me. Actually, I didn't even write the tune I am performing (Bad Place) on this instrument, instead I wrote it on a Gibson les paul cranked-up loud through an amp. Performing this tune acoustically I give the same amount of intensity and emotion as I would on a loud electric guitar with the band playing. There's something to be said for that. Go to new places, meet new people...yeah yeah we get it. For me sometimes I need to head back to my roots to find some untapped potential--enjoy the journey.
