BLaKL1st and Lazar are massive Bowie fans — always have been.
This version of Blak River is pure Bowie Dynamics.
They deliberately leaned into his intonations, the classic chord shapes, the way he carried drama in simplicity.
It’s a nod to his early sound, especially that Heroes- and hunky dory era energy — but the song still comes out unmistakably theirs .

What one can’t reach with his voice ' BLakL1st , the other one can. Lazar
There’s a kind of balance in that — just like Bowie often balanced himself against this world and his world .

This version is its own message —
to the other side, to the river, to the thin white ghost in orbit.

This is the final version of the song we cant top this it's perfect ..... the final form.
You can’t really get more British pop than a Bowie shadow stretched across Southmere lake in Thamesmead. and that is what we achieved .

No modesty on this release it's perfect it says everything the song was meant to say .

We did label it demo 4 at first but after this metamorphosed into this perfect thing . we cannot change it . it's the final song . and we will do a proper video for this ' this was recorded and mixed and mastered just today ' so we need a bit of time to do a video that will do this song justice .

Everyone who's heard this has said we walked the line between #bowie #blakl1st + #lazar beautifully ' its not imitation or mimicking we took bowies inspiration and his work informed us .
Anyone who's heard the previous demos will know we haven't changed a single lyric to sound more bowie-ish ' its still all our original lyrics stylised in an early bowie way a better production with someone who understood us.

Lazar is a great guitarist 'when this song hits the chorus you will see why it was so unexpected to us in that room ' it just climbs in a very cinematic restrained way 'it's a beautiful chord progression. that i havent really heard before .
