Description:
In this video we'll talk about what Sweden brings to NATO and how Sweden joining NATO completely ruined Russia's plans for another invasion in the west. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the non-NATO countries started to fear Russia and 2 european countries ended their neutrality and joined NATO: Finland and Sweden.
The two countries are extremely important for NATO in aliance's efforts to try to contain the Russian advance to the west and both of them brong valuable assets to NATO alliance. With Sweden joining NATO, Russia completely lost it's influence into the Baltic Sea.
But we'll talk more about all of this in this video, so make sure you do not miss it.

Sweden joined NATO and this completely ruins Russia’s plans in the west. You see, The Baltic Sea was basically a Russian lake until the collapse of the Soviet Union, but as Poland, The Baltic States and Norway quickly joined NATO, this left Russia with an isolated naval base in Kaliningrad and a narrow access point in St. Petersburg. Russia solution to this was to militarize Kaliningrad.
But Russia invasion of Ukraine changed everything. Sweden and Finland started to consider Russia a real threat and determine them to join NATO. While Finland would stop the Russians in the west, the Sweds would deal with the Russians in The Baltic Sea where they have the biggest possible asset. The island of Gotland is basically located in the middle of the Baltic Sea. This would help NATO to easily cut the link between Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg, transforming what was once a Russian lake into a NATO lake. But most importantly, In the event that Russia invades the Baltic countries, NATO would be able to reinforce the Baltics from this island, rather than trying to pile troops through the Suwałki Gap. With Sweden in NATO, Russia’s plans to further expand to the west were turned upside down.
