Did you know that Dave Grohl of the legendary band The Foo Fighters, plays the guitar like it were drums? In an interview with Off Camera With Sam Jones, Grohl explained, "I don't know what any of the chords really are. I know the basic chords. The way I look at a guitar is like a drum set. I look at the lower strings like they're kicks and snares, and I look at the higher strings like cymbals." Grohl never took any guitar lessons and only one drum lesson in his life and basically just finds sounds on the guitar that he likes as he explained on the Foo Fighters YouTube channel about writing the song Everlong, "I was sitting in the isolation booth...and just started playing this chord. I'm not a trained musician. So I don't know what that chord is." Grohl went on to explain that he just moves around the fretboard picking out tones he likes. His songs have become iconic.
