#1 Understanding your seller's motivation to negotiate effectively
You have to understand WHY they're selling the property.
By listening to their situation and understanding their needs, you can tailor the negotiation approach accordingly.
#2 Active listening
You may find it hard, but it's a powerful tool.
If you're talking to the seller in person, give them full attention, make eye contact, have concerns, and connect with them like a human.
#3 Building Rapport
Establish trust and build rapport with your sellers.
Be friendly, polite, respectful, and empathetic with them. Try to find common ground and show interest in what these sellers are telling you and their story.
Personally, I don’t even talk about numbers until I have built a solid rapport with that seller.
