We often hear about the clinical and therapeutic applications of psychedelics at conferences and seminars. The recreational use is often left out of the conversation. Here Iryana presents her thesis from an academic project looking at the use of psychedelic at music festivals, highlighting the importance of these gatherings for wider society.

Speaker bio:
After two university degrees & a corporate employment in her twenties, Iryana fulfilled her dream of a journey around the world blogging about music festivals. One festival every weekend for a year on six continents – her project Raverglueck turned out to be a success on many levels. During this journey she got experientially initiated into altered states of consciousness, which changed the trajectory of her life path. Today she is a researcher, an author and a passionate activist engaged with diverse psycare and harm reduction services in active care for festival guests going through challenging experiences. Iryana just moved from Berlin to London to pursue further education in the areas of her passion - psychology and psychotherapy. Her main research interests involve psychedelics, recreational settings as well as therapeutic modalities.

Breaking Convention holds Europe's largest conference on psychedelic research. The inaugural conference took place in 2011. This particular edition occurred on 20th April 2024 at Conway Hall in London, UK.
