American television sitcom The Steve Harvey Show aired on The WB for six seasons from August 25, 1996 to February 17, 2002. The show centred on the character of Steve Hightower, played by Steve Harvey, a ‘70s funk legend with his own music group who is forced by circumstances to take a gig teaching music at an inner-city Chicago high school. Due to budget cutbacks, he’s also roped into teaching drama and art.
