In this video I show how to check your car, suv or truck battery voltage the correct way. If you check your battery voltage after driving, the voltage is inaccurate due to surface charge. Surface charge will slightly elevate battery voltage and give you a false reading.A good battery should read 12.6 volts. A typical battery life span is between 3 to 5 years. It also possible a car battery can last 7 to 10 years if properly maintained and the alternator is functioning properly.
