His son married, and stopped contacting the old man. He was left heartbroken and penniless. Now he relies on picking through the garbage for recycling scraps for a living.
The young man told him that he has a lot of recycling material at home and the old man gladly went to fetch them. The young man accompanied the old man to the recycling center where he witnessed the old man arguing with the manager at the recycling center for higher pay in exchange for the cardboard boxes.
It really is hard work. One that he didn't expect to be doing at his age. The young man then invited the old man to eat dinner with him and looking at the old man gulp down noodles made him sad.
The old man now lives with his wife. Their children don't contact them. When mentioned his children, he became speechless. It's clear that he was very sad.
Before parting ways, the young man gifted the old man some food and a space heater. As well as some cash. How can a stranger care more about an old man than his own children? Let's hope they come to their senses and help their parents out. And the young man also did an amazing job. Being so kind and generous.
