Glen Belk, age 61, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 31, 2014. He is survived by his dear wife, Darlene; sons: Joshua (Angie) Belk and Jeff (Kathleen) Belk; and seven grandchildren; brothers: Ron (Betty) Belk and Gary (Goldie) Belk. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lorene Belk. He earned an Associate Degree in engineering from Purdue. Glen worked at JMC Steel in Chicago, IL for over 41 years as a Procurement Manager. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, IN for over four decades, and this is where he and his wife were married and raised their family.
A viewing was held on Sunday afternoon, August 3, from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Memory Lane Funeral Home, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway (US 30), Crown Point, IN. The funeral was held on Monday, August 4, at 11:00 a.m. in the Jack Hyles Memorial Auditorium of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, 523 Sibley Street, Hammond, IN. Internment was at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 4, at Memory Lane Memorial Park. Family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations may be made.
