The first camera drone can be traced back to the Vietnam War era, where drones were used for reconnaissance purposes, although these were not consumer drones but military UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). However, the first known instance of a drone carrying a camera for aerial photography was in 1907, when the Breguet-Richet Gyroplane No.1, a quadcopter, was developed by the Breguet brothers and Professor Charles Richet in France. This early drone was more of a prototype and didn't see widespread use, but it laid the groundwork for future camera-equipped drones.
