Buffalo, New York native, Lou Courtney, recorded a bunch of chart making singles during the mid 1960's working with New York producers on labels such as Imperial, Mercury and Riverside Records. His biggest hits were Skate Now, Do The Thing and Hey Joyce. I'm Mad About You, was released in 1967 on the Pop-Side label as the B-side to, Hey Joyce. The song was written by Courtney, Robert Bateman, and Willie Wilson. After that, Courtney recorded material on the Verve label and during the 1970's on Epic. Despite all the label hopping, Courtney consistently turned out fine material but remains a footnote in the history of R n'B.
