Three sources have confirmed that longtime DOJ lawyer Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, was terminated from the SDNY. All three sources are former SDNY prosecutors and spoke to MSNBC on the condition of anonymity for fear of retribution against themselves and their clients.One of the sources, who has firsthand knowledge of the letter Ms. Comey received, said she was terminated “pursuant to Article II of the Constitution.”
Comey led the team that prosecuted Sean “Diddy” Combs earlier this year; before that, she was perhaps best known for her involvement in the investigation and prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell.
